As he leaves his appointment as Standing Joint Force Commander, Maj Gen Tom Bateman reflects on a period that strengthened the JEF’s credibility, connectivity and operational effectiveness.
“Leading SJFHQ and serving as JEF Operational Commander has been a huge privilege. The professionalism, friendship and commitment shown by our participant nations have been remarkable, and I am profoundly grateful to have shared this journey with you.
“While my chapter with the JEF comes to a close, my belief in its purpose and potential remains as strong as ever. It has been an honour to serve alongside you all.”
Thank you, Sir, and fair winds as you pass the baton to Maj Gen Olly Brown.
